Week 2 Angel Wings Winner
Here is our week 2 winner! Congratulations Nicole Davis!

There has been an angel in my life for the past 25 years. She's my best friend. We first met in 4th grade, back then times were a bit tougher for us because I was the "new girl" in school even though everyone there knew me, I had spent the past two years in a private school. Most everyone else shunned me because they felt that I was a snob & invading their space. No one really wanted to reach out to me as the new girl OR as the daughter of a pretty strict teacher that had quite the reputation in our small town. Becky never was one to stay "inside the box" and she reached out to me. We made fast friends. We made it through the "hard times" of pre-pubescence and when we were in 9th grade her family moved to Texas from our small town in Alabama. In 1989 Texas was a WORLD away from Alabama but we made it through & actually GREW our friendship through near daily letters that also included mix tapes of our fave music and of course us talking about WHY those songs were our favorite. In 1993 she moved back to our small town in Alabama just as I was preparing to move away to college. She lived in her own apartment & her place became where I would go for refuge when things at home got kind of sticky.
We lost touch for almost 10 years, then, just when I needed her most (and come to find out, when she needed ME most as well) we found each other again. Over the past three years she has been my prayer warrior, my life coach, my champion, my Anam Chara, my sounding board, my confessor & my therapist. She has helped me through a divorce, several losses in my family & a really rough relationship. I love her with all my heart, I wouldn't know what to do without her.
For example, this past summer she did the most amazing thing for me. She spent her LAST NIGHT of "freedom" before her injections...driving through ATL traffic to get here...which put more pressure and time on her back than she should have...just to come here, to hold me for a few hours...to promise me that everything was going to be ok. Because WE...the two of us...WE are strong women & we can persevere through this. And to let me know that I do NOT have to do it alone just because the one that SHOULD be helping me through it has more important things to do...

Thank you, my dearest Becky...for everything...if I had EVER doubted the friend/sister you are to me, I am soooo very sorry. I love you so much, you mean the world to me & I hope that I can say that if it came right down to it, I'd do the exact same thing for you, in a HEARTBEAT!! You are my very, very, truly best friend! I love you with all my heart...and I thank you for everything, start to finish, that you have done for me from 4th grade until now...and everything that you will ever do for me. Please know that, no matter what I'm doing, no matter where I am...I will be there for you in this same way no matter the situation!!
